Pumpkin Carving!

Zoe has never carved a pumpkin before so we thought this would be a great year to do it! Zoe is all about Princess's now, so I found a Rapunzel drawing that we could use for her 1st pumpkin. We told her she had to help clean out the pumpkin seeds, which did not go over too well. I got a kick out of all her funny faces she made as she touched the slimy seeds and I'm sure you will too. The pumpkin turned out really good thanks to Daddy-O!

Soooo, it looks like we are back, updating everyone via blog since we are not on facebook anymore. So, many things have happened since I have last posted anything (2 1/2 years). So I am going to pick up with our newest addition to the family. We welcomed our little boy on August 8, 2011, Leland Maddox. Steve and I could not be more blessed with two beautiful children. Zoe absolutely adores her new little brother and is such a big helper!

Baby's 1st Steps

Five days before her 1st birthday, Zoe took her very 1st steps. She was so excited she fell down with excitement! Mommy and daddy are so proud of her. Her are some pics that we caught of her in action taking her 1st steps!

Catching Up

I can't believe it has been 4 months since my last post. I am now obsessed with facebook, so all my updates and pictures have been posted there. I keep forgetting that not everyone is on facebook,(MiMi).

I don't even know where to start. So try and follow me as best as you can. Zoe started crawling around 10 1/2 Months. We weren't sure if she was going to walk or crawl first, because she didn't seem to have to much interest in crawling, but she liked standing a lot. Finally, she started crawling and she has been on the move ever since.

We celebrated her 1st Birthday on March 13th. The next day we had about 50 adults and kids running around our house. Unfortunately it was raining so we could not setup the moonwalk, but it turned out really good! Here are some pics of her 1st Birthday Party.

Zoe Meets Santa

This past Friday our neighbors Darren, Keyma, and their son Drake joined us in taking Zoe to meet Santa at Stone Mountain Park. Of course, it was the coldest night of the year, but we still had a really good time and Zoe loved Santa as you can tell!

Thanksgiving 2008

This was the 2nd time we have had our family over for Thanksgiving since Steve and I have been together. It was nice for a change not having to rush around and go to two different houses. It was also really nice to be able to spend Thanksgiving with my grandmother for the first time! She has always lived in Upper Michigan, so I have not been able to spend too many holidays with her.

Yes, I know I need to post our Thanksgiving Pictures, but I couldn't wait to post these! I found some reindeer antlers and thought it would be great to torcher my child and have her picture made with them on. She actually didn't mind wearing them or having her picture made as you can tell. I did have some help from her "Aunt" or Cousin Jacque! I can't wait to see her opening her Christmas presents!

1st Halloween

Zoe's 1st Halloween was so much fun! Our neighbors Darren & Keyma brought their 10 month old son Drake and our friends Nikki & James brought their 7 month old Liam over. We all dressed up our babies and took tons of pictures and video taped them. Zoe didn't know what to do with 2 Monkeys! She laughed and talked the whole time. She loves being the center of attention! (She definetly gets that from her daddy). We then loaded everybody up and went to Jay and Rachel's and went trick or treating with them and their kids and Mark and Idaliz and their son. Zoe got her parents lots of candy!!!!

Sitting Up!

I am trying to update everyone on what has been going on in the past few weeks because I am a slacker and don't update our blog often enough (right Nikki)! Anyways, Zoe has been sitting up all by herself now for about 3 weeks! She loves being able to see the world at a new angle. And she can entertain herself more when I put her toys around her to play with. Which is a huge help because she is going through the stage where she wants mommy to hold her or be in her eye sight all the time, which does not go well with my OCD of cleaning house.

I just can't believe how quick they grow up. You always hear other people saying that but you just don't get it until you have a child of your own. Pretty soon she is going to be crawling, then walking and talking. Where did my newborn go?

Ears Pierced!

Two Saturdays ago we took Zoe to Claire's Boutique to get her ears pierced! It went a lot better than I thought it would. I can not stand to see her hurt and I feel like the worse mom in the world when she does get hurt (like when she fell out of her swing). But I thought the few seconds of hurt would be worth the pain and it would be best to get them pierced while she was really young. And I was right (ha!) She was more mad that her daddy had to hold her head still so they could pierce her ear than she was in pain from the piercing. Less than a minute after they were pierced she quit crying and they have not bothered her since. And look at how beautiful she looks!

Daddy's Little Girl

I can't express the feeling I get in my heart when I see my little girl and her daddy together. My heart is so over joyed it usually brings tears to my eyes to see my "macho" man's heart melt when he see's his little girl smile at him. I am so blessed and thankful God gave us this little life to love, nurture and teach!

My Grandmother, my Mom, Zoe and I went Saturday and got our pictures taken. Zoe had a bottle and a nap right before we got to Portrait Innovations and she was the happiest baby getting her pictures taken. Carter's baby clothing store just happen to be next door so I conned my grandmother & mom into going shopping for Zoe's "Winter Wardrobe." They were having really good sales, what can I say.

1ST FAMILY VACATION

Thank God for vacations! After having a baby and starting our own business, we were more than ready for a vacation. We went to Panama City Beach and stayed in my boss's ridiculous condo. It was really nice to be able to just relax and spend nothing but family time. It was Zoe's 1st trip to the beach, and she was interested in everything. We took her swimming and to the beach every morning and evening, because my overprotected husband didn't want Zoe to get burned (even though she had 50 proof on and under an umbrella.) We did a little to much shopping and junk food eating, but I guess that's what vacations are for. I can't wait for our next trip to the beach!
